August 26, 2016– Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation (NCVC) announced today that Jennifer Haisten, CMP has joined the customer advisory board to further develop the Music City’s strategic plan. Jennifer comes with over 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having spent the last few years as the Vice President of GlobauxSouce where she helps clients with her unique and personalized approach to meeting resource management.

Jennifer joins NCVC’s customer advisory for the next calendar year to continue the board’s recent success of selling, marketing and expanding the Nashville, Music city brand to the world as a premium entertainment destination. Jennifer’s prior experience as a Senior Director of Global Sales for HelmsBriscoe and as the Director of Convention Servicing with a Texas Convention and Visitors Bureau makes her the ideal candidate for this prestigious position.

Jennifer’s current role at Globauxsource, a company that helps clients plan and arrange meetings with top industry personnel, provides her the tools and skill set necessary to achieve big things for NCVC. When asked about her role on the advisory board, Jennifer comments, “I am excited and honored to be a part of this new challenge with NCVC and I hope to use my CVB background and strategic thinking to achieve great things for the city of Nashville.”





SITE Shines the Spotlight on SITE Texas

SITE Texas President, Patricia (Patti) Palacios is President and CEO of GlobauxSource, a worldwide leader in meetings resource management based in Plano, . Patti has spent the last 34 years in the Hospitality industry, with the last 18 years as a Vice President with HelmsBriscoe. Prior to HelmsBriscoe, Patti worked for several prominent hotels, such as Westin Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and Stouffer Hotels. She was a leader in the opening of Westin Detroit and Westin Galleria in Houston, as well as The Ritz-Carlton Dearborn.

She is an active member of SITE, MPI, PCMA and the New Orleans Advisory Board and recently completed a three-year term on the Ft. Worth Advisory Board. She has served as the Co-chair for Meeting Professionals International "Kids Charity Ball" and has sponsored several community events, including the “Black Tie Dinner,” which supports the Human Rights Campaign and other organizations, the annual Buckner Holiday Party, supporting underprivileged children, and finally the rebuilding of a school in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

SITE: Being a Chapter Leader is a volunteer position and requires a significant time commitment. What/who motivated you to assume a Chapter Leader position?
Patti: My first experience with SITE was the Technology Summit in Cancun in 2013. The experience offered the perfect mix of learning sessions and networking. I joined SITE just after that meeting and vowed to get involved. A few months later I was asked to join the SITE Texas board as V.P of membership. After a successful year with membership I was asked to be President. I feel honored to be involved in such a dynamic organization.
SITE: When recruiting new members, what do you tell them are the greatest personal and professional benefits of being a member of SITE?
Patti: My first role on the Board of SITE Texas was that of V.P of memberships. The Texas chapter has much to offer new members as well as our existing members. We provide nine education programs a year plus our signature event "The Tech Summit". The vision I have for our chapter is to be the leader in "active" memberships, social media, technology and sponsorships. Already our chapter leads the way in technology with the “Tech Summit” and we continue to grow our membership each year.
SITE: In addition to the successful Technology Summit, what are some of the other educational activities and events SITE Texas is doing in 2015 to engage current and prospective members?
Patti: We try to offer new educational activities each year. My favorite activity, so far this year, took place during SITE Global Education Week. We had a "Tweet up" and encouraged our membership to join the fun. We held simultaneous events in Dallas, Houston and Austin and presented educational papers on social media, and the ins and outs of tweeting. It was allot of fun, educational and great networking.

Blue Line Kids is a program centered around the lives of police kids. Through local and national events, and newly developed programs, they hope to create a fun, educational and supportive group where their kids feel comfortable and welcome and find lasting relationships.
